Adib Saani Jatikay is the Executive Director of the Jatikay Center for Human Development and Peacebuilding. He is the last of 25 children of Alhaji Saani Musah Jatikay and Hajia Bouya Saani, natives of Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana. He attended the University of Ghana where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology. He proceeded to the University for Development Studies, where he obtained a Masters Degree in Organizational Management and Rural development.
Adib is a certified Conflict Analyst and a Mediator from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center (KAIPTC). He is also a Terrorism and Counter Terrorism Expert from Leiden University, the Netherlands. He has obtained several professional certificates in different endeavors from prestigious institutions in and outside Ghana. A proud member of the Ghana Journalists’ Association, Adib is also a Communications Officer at the Public Financial Management Reforms (PFMR) Secretariat in Accra.
His disposition can best be described as soft spoken, kind and God fearing. He draws lot of inspiration from his father Alhaji Saani, who he contends has not only been his mentor and role model but also inspired him spiritually. “Even though he has passed, his lessons and words still resonate and guides me every single day”.
Adib Saani is married to Ramatu Saani Osman and blessed with one son, Imaad Jatikay Saani and a daughter, Akeelah Jatikay Saani.
