Security expert Adib Saani has raised concern about Ghana’s borders which he says are porous, allowing people to come in and out of the country without effective security checks.
His comments came after the National Security Council raised a security alert following the terrorist attack in Cote d’Ivoire over the weekend.
According to Mr. Saani, with the frequent terrorist attacks in the sub-region, security at the country’s borders must be tightened.
He also expressed worry that the country’s security has been more of reactionary and needs to be proactive.
Mr. Adib Saani asked government to include the welfare of the youth in its anti-terrorism strategies as they are most vulnerable.
